Point Leo SLSC takes its responsibility to provide a safe and inclusive environment for children and young people that provides for the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of its young people and their families.
We strive to actively promote equity, diversity and respectful relationships by:
- welcoming children and young people from diverse backgrounds, including different cultures, linguistic backgrounds, First Nations Peoples, different genders and abilities, and responding effectively and appropriately to any vulnerabilities experienced by our children and young people from a child and young person-centred lens
- providing all children and young people with education about and access to information, support and help seeking processes that are appropriate for their age and circumstance
- empowering children and young people with a voice that is welcomed and listened to, especially in regards to decisions that effect them
We acknowledge that the responsibility to protect children and young people from harm lies with all members of our community and undertake to create a child safe culture through constant education, vigilance and review of our policies and processes.
